Dispersive charge carrier mobility in a surface oxide layer

چکیده
The electrode impedance spectrum of the oxide produced on a Zr–1%Nb surface in an aqueous solution at 290 C is analysed as a function of temperature between 20 C and 290 C. The portion of the spectrum, relevant to the oxide, is treated in terms of a parallel CPEkRox equivalent circuit (CPE denoting constant phase element, Rox ohmic resistor). Considering also the effect of temperature CPE is understood as a dispersive resistance described by the continuous time random walk theory of Scher and Lax. Distinction is made between the kinetics of oxide growth and of non-Faraday charge transport, the time constant of the latter being obtained directly from impedance data.

Field Dependent Charge Carrier Transport for Organic Semiconductors at the Time of Flight Configuration
In this paper, we used the time-of-flight (TOF) of a charge packet, that injected by a voltage pulse to calculate the drift velocity and mobility of holes in organic semiconducting polymers. The technique consists in applying a voltage to the anode and calculating the time delay in the appearance of the injected carriers at the other contact. The method is a simple way to determine the charge t...
متن کاملMeasurement of the Charge Carrier Mobility Distribution in Bulk Heterojunction Solar Cells.
Charge carrier transport through organic solar cells is fundamentally dispersive due to the disordered structure and complex film morphology within the photoactive layer. A novel application of transient photocurrent and short-circuit variable time-delayed collection field measurements is used to reconstruct the complete charge carrier mobility distribution for the photogenerated carriers in op...
متن کاملDispersive charge transport along the surface of an insu - lating layer observed by Electrostatic Force Microscopy
– We report the observation in the direct space of the transport of a few thousand charges submitted to a tunable electric field along the surface of a silicon oxide layer. Charges are both deposited and observed using the same Electrostatic Force Microscope. During the time range accessible to our measurements (i.e. t = 1 ∼ 1000 s), the transport of electrons is mediated by traps in the oxide....
متن کاملCharge carrier transport in molecularly doped polycarbonate as a test case for the dipolar glass model.
We present the results of Monte Carlo simulations of the charge carrier transport in a disordered molecular system containing spatial and energetic disorders using the dipolar glass model. Model parameters of the material were chosen to fit a typical polar organic photoconductor polycarbonate doped with 30% of aromatic hydrazone, whose transport properties are well documented in literature. Sim...
متن کاملThe impact of hot charge carrier mobility on photocurrent losses in polymer-based solar cells
A typical signature of charge extraction in disordered organic systems is dispersive transport, which implies a distribution of charge carrier mobilities that negatively impact on device performance. Dispersive transport has been commonly understood to originate from a time-dependent mobility of hot charge carriers that reduces as excess energy is lost during relaxation in the density of states...
